Shahid diwas: martyrs' day for India
On 23 March 1931 three man were hanged by British government and their bodies were secretly cremated on the bank of satluj river.
Do you know how they were?
Those three man were Bhagat Singh,Sukdew Thapar and Shivaram Hari Rajguru. We celebrate 23 March as Shahid diwas in the remembernace of Bhagat Singh, sukdev and Rajguru. Three of them scarifies his life for country.
1. Bhagat Singh :
Born- 27 September 1907
Died- 23 March 1931
He was member of Hindustan Socialist Republic Association (HSRA). He killed British officer j.p saunders. He also explode explosive in assembly chamber in which some people get injured. His aim was to make India a independent country.
Subhas Chandra Bose said that: "Bhagat Singh had become the symbol of the new awakening among the youths." Nehru acknowledged that Bhagat Singh's popularity was leading to a new national awakening, saying: "He was a clean fighter who faced his enemy in the open field ... he was like a spark that became a flame in a short time and spread from one end of the country to the other dispelling the prevailing darkness everywhere". Four years after Singh's hanging, the Director of the Intelligence Bureau, Sir Horace Williamson, wrote: "His photograph was on sale in every city and township and for a time rivaled in popularity even that of Mr. Gandhi himself.
2. Shivaram Hari Rajguru :
Born- 24 August 1908
Died- 23 March 1931.
Indian Revolutionary from Maharashtra, know mainly for his involvement in assassination of a British Raj police officer. He was member of Hindustan Socialist Republic Association (HSRA). Rajguru became a colleague of Bhagat Singh and Sukdev and took part in the assassination of British police officer J.P saunders at Lahore in 1928. Their actions were to take revenge of the death of lala lajpat Rai who had died a fortnight after being hit by police while on a March protesting the Simon commission.
3. Sukdev Thapar :
Born- 15 may 1907
Died- 23 March 1931
When sukdev was hanged by British government he was only 23 year old. He give his life to his country. He only wants independents,independents and independents.
Sukdev mainly involve in assassination of J.P Saunders. He hanged at age of 23.
